Travel to Mexico City, Pilgrimage Opening & Dinner in Historic Hotel

Touchdown in Mexico City! You’ll be greeted and taken to Casa González, a cozy, peaceful spot right in the heart of the city—perfect for settling in after your flight. After getting unpacked, we’ll kick things off with an Opening Mass, putting the whole trip in God’s hands and asking Our Lady of Guadalupe to guide us. It’s the perfect way to set the vibe: prayerful, open, and ready for whatever God has planned. We’ll wrap up the night with a group dinner at Casa González, sharing good food and getting to know each other.

Encountering Our Lady at the Basilica

The day kicks off with breakfast at Casa González and a morning talk from a leading Guadalupe expert, who helps us get our hearts ready to meet Our Lady where she appeared to St. Juan Diego. This isn’t just a history lesson—it’s an invitation to visit the Basilica not as tourists, but as kids coming home to their Mother.

We’ll then hop on the bus and head to the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe, the spiritual heart of Mexico. After a quick orientation and guided tour, the highlight of the morning is Mass inside the Basilica, right in front of the miraculous image. Here’s your chance to lay down your prayers, worries, and dreams at the feet of Mary, who reminds us: “Am I not here, I who am your Mother?”

After Mass, we’ll enjoy a casual picnic lunch on the Basilica grounds with to-go meals from the hotel. The afternoon is a mix of reflection talks, quiet prayer time, and exploring places like the Museo Guadalupano, filled with incredible art and history of Our Lady’s presence in Mexico.

In the evening, we’ll ride over to Mexico City’s famous Zócalo—the massive central square surrounded by stunning colonial architecture. As we take in the sights and the rich blend of indigenous and Spanish history, we’ll wrap up with a group dinner at a restaurant overlooking the square, sharing good food, laughs, and gratitude for the journey so far.

Encountering the Roots of Faith and Culture

The morning starts with breakfast at Casa González and a short spiritual talk to ground us in prayer before diving deeper into the story of Guadalupe and the rich blend of faith and culture that surrounds it.

Our first stop is the Zócalo, Mexico City’s massive historic square, where we’ll celebrate Mass at the Metropolitan Cathedral. Built on the site of an ancient Aztec temple, this stunning church is a living sign of how God’s grace transforms history while honoring the dignity of every culture.

After Mass, we’ll explore the Templo Mayor ruins and museum, once the heart of the Aztec world. Here we’ll discover how the spiritual longing of the indigenous peoples prepared the way for Mary’s appearance at Tepeyac, speaking to them in symbols they could recognize.

We’ll take a quick coffee break before enjoying lunch at El Mayor, a rooftop spot overlooking the ruins and Cathedral—an epic view of Mexico’s layered story of faith.

In the afternoon, we’ll return to the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe for quiet personal prayer, time before the miraculous tilma, and a group talk with adoration.

The day wraps up with a fun group dinner and social night back at Casa González—a chance to relax, share stories, and build friendships after a day full of history, prayer, and discovery.

Day 4

Blessed Miguel Pro, Witness & Celebration at Xochimilco

The morning kicks off with coffee and fresh Mexican conchas—sweet bread that’s been a breakfast staple for generations. From Casa González, we’ll take a short walk to the Church of the Sagrada Familia, where Blessed Miguel Pro, a fearless Jesuit priest and martyr, once stood strong during the 1920s persecutions. We’ll celebrate Mass and prayer right where his relics are kept, and visit the museum to hear his inspiring story of courage, joy, and unshakable faith.

Next, we’ll head to the Club de Banqueros for a big brunch and group reflections, a chance to fuel up and share how God has been moving in our hearts throughout the trip.

In the afternoon, it’s time for something totally different—Xochimilco, the famous “Venice of Mexico.” We’ll hop aboard colorful trajinera boats for a ride through ancient Aztec canals, complete with music, snacks, and drinks. Expect laughter, photos, and good party as we celebrate the beauty of God’s creation and the joy of community.

Back in the city, we’ll wrap up the day with a street taco feast and fresh churros, tasting Mexico’s incredible flavors the way the locals do—simple, delicious, and unforgettable.

Pyramids of Teotihuacan & Final Sending Forth at Guadalupe

The final full day kicks off with breakfast and a morning talk at Casa González, helping us get our hearts ready for a day that blends ancient history, adventure, and the loving presence of Our Lady.

First stop: the pyramids of Teotihuacan—once a spiritual hub of the Aztec world. With a guide leading the way, we’ll explore the massive Sun and Moon pyramids and reflect on how every culture longs for God, a longing Our Lady of Guadalupe fulfilled by pointing to Christ as the true Light of the world.

After lunch near the pyramids, we’ll visit the Santuario de la Quinta Aparición, where Mary appeared for the last time in 1531 and healed St. Juan Diego’s uncle. Here we’ll pray the Divine Mercy Chaplet, lifting up our own loved ones in need of God’s healing and grace.

In the evening, we return to the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe for a powerful final Mass, vigil, and adoration—a chance to gather all the prayers, memories, and graces of the trip and place them before the miraculous tilma.

We’ll end the night with a farewell dinner at Montecristo Restaurant, celebrating new friendships, shared experiences, and the way this pilgrimage has deepened our faith and joy.

As Mexico City slowly wakes, there’s already a quiet gratitude in the air—a sense that this trip has been more than just a getaway. What started as a journey to Our Lady of Guadalupe has become a personal adventure of faith and transformation.

The ride to the airport is a final chance to pray, reflect, and swap memories—from the awe of the Basilica and the tilma, to climbing Teotihuacan’s pyramids, laughing on Xochimilco’s colorful boats, and sharing countless meals and inside jokes. Mary’s words—“Am I not here, I who am your Mother?”—now feel personal, a promise we carry home and into whatever comes next.
